Lark's start as a squire is also further complicated by the fact that Leon, who is lowkey infatuated with them, doesn't know how to properly display emotions and gives them the impression that he's super unimpressed with just... their general being. He's just kinda a dick at first lmao

They're a knight and squire duo! Leon recruits Lark to be his squire after they saved his life under Mysterious Circumstances (secret magic is involved) Lark is a peasant from a small farming village so they kinda leap at the opportunity but it ends up being Very complicated (bc more secret magic)
