That's still early in Sorin's moral development, so simply, that the 🤏 amount of trust he's put in his allies is misplaced, that as soon as he's run his course of usefulness they'll turn on him, perhaps he's even been set up at the head of this impossible task to take the fall for the world ending

Sorin did not care for that! He (starts as) dismissive to religions in general. He's also secretly desperate to be recognized as an individual, not "a herald" or "a Dalish," someone with power of his own that wasn't divinely gifted. Sucks it up and plays into it for the politic points tho
