Crazy that you could draw a straight line out from Sonic 1 all the way to Shadow 05 and then after that every game felt like it existed in a vacuum or with *one* other sequel (Rush to Rush Adventure, Riders to Zero Gravity, even Colors leads into Generations with a flashback) until Frontiers.

More remakes should make these kinds of changes. Objectively improving the flow of the experience without taking away any part of the actual design

That’s crazy; I’ve dumped 20 hours into it and just barely finished Act 1. Final time will probably be 30-40 something

25 years ago we had THE BOUNCER; a lot you can say about that including many not good things but damn it was distinct as hell

That’s the thing; it doesn’t feel like a MODERN AAA game though

It feels like a AAA game from the *early* PS3 “no games” era where a lot is noticeably cut back and you mostly just go through arena to arena seeing flashy visuals and platforming in between

This feels more earnest than Forspoken ever did even if it’s rough and underwritten

It got the open world cut; genuinely feels like it would’ve been a PS3 game back in the “PS3 has no games” era in how straightforward it is.

Combat stuff is actually fun, it looks nice *sometimes* everything else is undercooked by expectations for AAA Sony games.
