I'm just a guy who bought a rust bucket vintage Jeep and makes YouTube videos about bringing it back slowly, piece by piece, learning things along the way. I also restore rusty things for fun.

Happy 4th of July to my American followers!

I hate that life has gotten so hectic in the last 6 months that I haven't had the energy to get back to the hobbies I loved. I miss having the brain power to tinker on jeep things and make YouTube videos.

4 years ago I was at 200 subscribers under the old channel name. Despite my hiatus for a few months I'm up to 1300. It has been a slow crawl but it has been a fun side hobby.

I don't know who needs to hear this today... but the word is "solenoid" not "silanoid".

"Ready for the Snow" by George Lucas (no, not that one) - relevant thanks to the possibility of winter weather in the southern US.

My first act of the new year was to put my Raycons through the washer... Great. Hopefully they'll dry out and work afterwards. Probably not, but maybe.

Every once in a while you catch one of your white whales. Been searching for one of these for a long time. I'm out of Vulcan blends but I suppose Earl Grey will do nicely.

That time I turned a cracked cylinder head into a desk lamp. Because what else do you do with a chunk of scrapbinium?

It was a cold evening for a walk by the Arkansas River. Still a nice walk.

You ever spend half your Monday on vacation, leisurely shopping, lounging, sipping a beer or two, etc. and have this spark of panic where you suddenly aren't sure you were off this week, so you open the work laptop just to check teams and outlook and make sure you're actually on vacation this week?

Not bad for being around 50 years old. These Sears lockout hubs cleaned up nicely. Looking forward to getting them installed on the rust bucket Jeep.

Another day of making rusty stuff like new while trying to avoid the constant influx of negativity from the 24 hour news cycle...

I'm working on rebuilding a Dana 25 front axle for my Jeep and as a side project I'm rebuilding these cool old Sears locking hubs. They're basically the same as a Selectro, Mile Marker etc. of the day. Unfortunately one of the cams was broken and the other is cracked. Oof. More parts to go find...

I'm hanging out at Guillermos Coffee in Little Rock for a Rigs and Coffee meet. They're also doing a toy drive for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

I got the 1948 Jeep out of the garage for Veterans Day yesterday and took it out on a main road to get it up to its top speed. Looks like 0-60 is not possible, but 50 can happen in about a minute. (Who am I kidding, the speedometer is not accurate...)

I'm not usually one to do social media stuff like this, but I figured it's too late to be worth it to have a Twitter account so I might as well post updates here.
