i think rice can be whatever it wants to be 😤
August 25, 2024 at 3:28 AM
i don't see why adding salt to rice is bad xD
unless you're eating it with food that's already super salty
August 25, 2024 at 3:16 AM
oh yeah you can use white vinegar but i ended up liking rice vinegar better
and i use olive oil, he said a few different oils work
people in the comments were also recommending trying coconut oil or butter

August 25, 2024 at 2:52 AM
But i started with Secretary and was able to figure out stuff with context clues
August 25, 2024 at 12:32 AM
You don’t! Solar system should be read after 10%+ and Rotary should be read after Emancipation, but for the most part the stories are separate and take place in different time periods

People do rec starting with 10%+ because being the first one, the world is explained better
August 25, 2024 at 12:31 AM
Yes, i think you’d like it!

Also if i could recommend you a nofna comic, it’d be Secretary
August 25, 2024 at 12:25 AM
If you feel down for watching something bio focused i’d also like to point you towards Scavengers Reign 👀

It’s the type of story that Murderbot would grumble about them needing a secunit lol, but it is hopeful
August 25, 2024 at 12:13 AM
Yes, it’s like a biology/environmental take on the Zone! As a bio nerd i loved that :>

Death… but with rebirth in a way
It has an anti-humans and human society, pro nature outlook. Which some of the characters can embrace, but how bleak that is depends on your stance
August 25, 2024 at 12:03 AM
Absolutely! I loved it, especially the protag in the first book and just how mysterious Area X is. Be aware that it is fairly bleak however
August 24, 2024 at 11:56 PM
Yes! It allows them to do more human things, while at the same time their animal forms can represent deeper meaning symbolically (moreso in the later arcs). It’s a really interesting way to tackle philosophical topics

Yess, lmk if you do! ^u^

Humans have normal technology, and they also seem to have a strong influence on Art? The current arc is about first contact between humans and society animals so it’s exploring that, but i’m waiting to read it til it’s further along
August 24, 2024 at 11:27 PM
Animals in society can learn to hone psychic-ish abilities that they call Art, that can be developed into a sort of technology or tool

Actually the site explains it better than me, this is “alembic” in the glossary from the about page!
Nature of Nature's Art
A series of graphic novels. Animals throughout modern history seek to define their societies under the auspices of the second coming of the neocortex.

That… actually has a complex answer :> The animals have sentience, have developed society, and refer to themselves as human, but those not part of society act as animals as we know them. Humanity, and the clash of innate primal instinct and society, art, and culture are big recurring themes
