i can finally start catching up and my first new blorbo for the #charactercreationjam is for @mkirin.itch.io's Iron Valley!! i've been wanting to play this game for a while but haven't taken the time to look at the pdf yet. this was a GREAT excuse and a way to open the door to actually play later!!!

and then once the jam ended without me finishing the project i realized that it might suit itself better to wretched & alone, but i mostly stopped picking at it... i do really like some of the prompt writing i did still though
On your way through the woods, you stumble upon a marvelous feast; richly-colored foods of unbelievable variety fill the longest banquet table you've ever seen, their scents wafting all throughout the woods. Beings of all kinds laugh and dance and sway, full of drink and food and good cheer. One waves you over, explaining that they are celebrating the oncoming of autumn. Hadn't autumn just passed? Roll a D6. If you roll a 5 or 6, you manage to politely extricate yourself from the conversation and continue on your way. If you roll a 4 or lower, you are unable to politely refuse the invitation and join the party—only for a little while. Continue rolling the D6 until you roll a 5 or a 6. For each roll of 4 or lower, you spend more time feasting and reveling. The meal is so enticing, the crowd so lively. How much time do you lose? Making your way through a crowded city, you notice a face familiar to you: someone precious, someone mortal, someone known. When you call their name, they do not turn. You push through the crowd to them and take them by the shoulder. You know their face, know them as mortal like you. And yet you are a stranger to them. They tell you, "I don't know who they put in my place when they took me, but I am not them."

li'l preview of one of the playbooks for my #tittyrpgjam project. one of the things she can always do is "find someone else to take the fall."
Princess Marguerite could have chosen anyone for the role of her lady-in-waiting. It was expected that she might take a cousin, as is usual, or someone of a noble line at least high-ranked enough to have space in the palace. Instead she chose *you*. You are grateful, you are resentful, and you are nobody. You lace her dresses and handle her secretarial matters and you revel in your power—power that is so heavily dependent on someone else’s mercurial whims. Rarely is your status respected; once the nobility discovers your origins, it’s all you see. So you take whatever control you can find, desperately and futilely seeking power not contingent on another and finding yourself satisfied by mere *acknowledgment*. You have so little that you take whatever you can get, stepping over others just to feast upon scraps.

Marguerite: spoiled princess with too many older siblings to inherit anything. gaslight/gatekeep/girlboss personified. manipulative, possessive, and bratty; has never faced a consequence in her life and knows that she’s not about to start now. beautiful, but more interested in showing off fine things like fancy dresses (which francesca must help her into) and expensive jewelry than doing anything with her own beauty. elaborately-styled hair with accessories in it. tiara is a necessity. Lucienne: a lady knight. strong physique, severe demeanor. you know how wlw love women in armor—doesn’t need to be full plate, but should err on the side of practicality, but in a royal ceremonial way and not an actual soldier at war way. practicality level otherwise is like…hair isn’t in an updo for the sake of keeping it entirely out of her way nor for the sake of being a beautiful fancy style, as an example; it might be braided or partially tied back in a way that is *kind* of practical but would not actually pass for someone in an actual battle. Francesca: lady-in-waiting with very little political power of her own; her status and comfort are ensured only by appeasing those above her (primarily marguerite). not entirely comfortable with her status as a result; overcompensating. indulges in beautiful clothing and jewelry and accessories (not as beautiful as marguerite’s). clothes she’s able to dress herself in, rather than needing a maid’s assistance.
