It’s nothing extraordinary or complicated and it’s taken me a couple years to build up and find what works best for me. I started using candy and cardboard cut outs for minis and there is nothing wrong with that. It’s all in the minds eye anyways.

For all DM’s out there you need to hear this. It’s ok to say yes, it’s ok to say no. You need to do what’s best for your game and other players. Sometimes that means telling one of them no, but it’s ok to say yes when they make a request as well.

If you’re having issues with the party intimidating or being murder hobos here is a tip. When adventurers retire they usually get a regular job, maybe they open up a shop or an inn. Don’t default all your npc’s into low level characters, some can be mid-high level classes. #ttrpg #dnd #5e

Did our first play through of Quacks of Quedlinburg, great game, lots of replay value and easy to learn once you get a few turns under your belt. Highly recommend, only 4 players but that’s ok.

When you do take up the mantle of DM, remember it isn’t you against the players. You facilitate the story and the world around them, make it challenging but understand the limits of your players. Celebrate their victories with them. #ttrpg #dnd

I think the premise for Red One would make a great Christmas campaign. Santa gets kidnapped, recruit party members. Travel the world fighting monsters and solve puzzles/problems. Rescue Santa for a reward.
