I was just going to watch a movie to disengage for awhile and thought of seeing Tokyo Biyori (a favorite) with Miho Nakayama. But she suddenly just passed away in her bathtub. 😔
So it has been another crazy weekend of news. I think I was done with checking in when I saw that they found Monopoly money in that assassin’s backpack. Not to make light of S. Korea, Syria, France, etc though. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all…

Maybe this is a contrary view, but I cringe when men say that they want to protect us women from "the patriarchy". I am not sure what they expect as a response. Are they looking for gratitude?

I can't keep pets in my rented apartment, which is common in Japan. But I quite like cats. They are independent and mysterious, and also very cute. I wonder if my platonic interest in cats makes me a cat lady by proxy.
