I'm making an effort this year to read more authors from outside of the USA. Turns out most of my 5 and 4.5 star reads are from those with nationalities elsewhere, and look how colorful my chart is so far! #booksky

I've seen the headlines about the executive order regarding IVF and it sent me on a rollercoaster of thoughts.

The ulterior motives 🤮 + people dreaming of being able to afford it + the likelihood that clinics will just find new ways to make money + bans on terminations (for medical reasons too)

The Washington state hat turned out great! (Nancy Bates designs) I’d recommend sizing up in needles if you make it, ran a bit small as directed. A perfect fir for my nephew though 🧶❤️ #craftsky

Library haul with the knitting project I’ve admitted will be too small for my head DESPITE swatching for gauge. But books are never too small 🤓 #craftsky #booksky

A bookish January wrap up. I continue to be delighted by Olga Tokarczuk’s work. If you’re not reading Let’s Move the Needle yet, get your hands on it soon! And then go follow @badasscrossstitch.bsky.social #booksky #craftsky

I'm not in the mood for dystopian literature, thank you very much. But evidently I'm also not going to stop being Katie. Here are this months book's so far. I'd like to point out that hopeful and funny are also in there a bit! 📚 #booksky

Finishing my 100th book of the year feels surreal. Also a bit of a midlife read-it-all-before-I-can’t-anymore crisis. I started listening more to everyday people talk about the books they loved and my tbr list got exponentially better!

It used to be really hard to find adult Christmas village figurines without babies literally glued to them. We’ve found these recently though! Representation is more than just fun, it reminds us that parents are not the standard for a human being.

Name a TV show you're positive no one remembers but you. Why did I care so much about this chicken and Johnny Bench at age 8?

When the world is so broken what does a therapist do in between sessions for self care? We’ve all seen the research about Tetris preventing PTSD, so maybe physical puzzles help too. Either way, this series has art that makes me SO happy.

Hello #craftsky friends! A story as old as time- a half finished project. I made a #bookish craft from all my 2023 reads and these mini versions still are hanging out in a bowl. I'm thinking vintage jars instead? I only really use the library so these guys are my physical collection :)
