Agreed, really happy with how the fo handled Ingram and Durant negotiations, kicked the tires, offered what we had, backed out when the price was too steep. Glad we didn’t send out assets for players with questionable long term fit. just wish we’d come out positive on picks from the deadline

These moves push me more and more towards not being a huge fan of this deadline, cannot believe we paid the seconds from Dre just to be the clipper’s salary dump for a questionably long contract in mann

Any update on if the traded players will play?

Very true, depends if bogi bounces back and if Dre can stay healthy on the Cavs, I’m honestly a little worried for his health knowing the minutes the Cavs will want from him and the defensive responsibilities he’ll have, so it could be this is the longest stretch he’ll ever have of performing health

Yup, I feel better about this season, just really wish we’d netted out positive on assets selling Hunter and bogi when bogi was certainly worth a decent first last year and we knew we weren’t going anywhere, and Hunter should’ve netted us a late first now

Although you do raise a good point of playoff experience even at the cost of some minutes to development as I talked about in my other comment. Would love to see risacher and dys get good playoff minutes against a tough team to learn what they need to develop to win playoff games.

That’s a fair point, I really don’t mind the moves from a now standpoint, I just liked how developmentally focused we seemed before and now we’re giving a lot of minutes to guys not a part of the long term plan. Hunter fit the timeline better than anyone they got back and they sold low on bogi, imo

it’s just a weird tipping point for people who got their hopes up from the win streaks, this wasn’t ever supposed to be a big year but even I, someone who’s been quick to push off the doomer stuff after losing streaks, feel a little like this entire deadline was based around saving ressler $ next yr
February 7, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Could be, I’ve put my trust in Landry so far knowing that he’s working against a cap that few teams have to deal with because ressler is so cheap, I’m willing to give him time to work with what he’s gotten here but my patience as a fan is wearing thin.

Yeah the only argument I can even see here is cap flexibility, but nobody who fits well on a winning team hardly ever hits free agency, we got older, and somehow didn’t net any assets. Like I said historically I’m usually one to see the bright side when it comes to the hawks moves but this feels meh

Just seems like the front office is behind ressler’s determination to maximize profit win or lose, cannot imagine how we ended up barely going net positive on SECOND round picks after selling most of our sellable pieces. And this is from a guy who’s been really high on the long term vision past dj

Will be really interested to hear your summary of what went on tonight, feels quite a bit like the league knew they were desperate to get out from hunters contract and out from the tax following that move and took advantage to get great deals on the guys the hawks were selling.
