Honored guest stopped by today. This is Yazzie a Navajo-Churro sheep originating from the Spanish breeds given to the Diné people in the 16th century. Churros are another hair sheep breed, not wool.

Every water trough I filled was an invitation to make it a pool so sprayed him w/ the hose.
His flipped his head like a model “Yaaaas, but not the face.” Then intense eye contact & slowly spun around, “Now do my butt!”

The surest sign of Summer is not found on a calendar - it is Aster! She gets brushed often but won’t give up the winter cotour until threat of snow has passed. At elevation (+7,000 feet) it is not unusual to have Spring snow- we did twice.
Rest assured that Aster has now dropped her winter coat.

After days of storms passed we get to relax on hay bales & take a leisurely stroll along the service road. Petite takes her baby on the first venture out of the pen. Shaky new legs are keeping up under the watchful eyes of shepherd puppy Bloo who takes his protection job very seriously.

The last baby turkey can not be alone, so…We were shopping for a covered playpen and wandered into the bird toys which was VERY interesting then decided to try “cat games”. The bug version got a lot of excitement then the warm oatmeal mash kicked in and turkey passed out.
