Grumpy Developer
@summer600.bsky.social
Over time I turned into a Grumpy Developer. Being pragmatic is my thing.

In my day job I work on call center software for calway.nl
episodes might also not be in the right order on the disc, very annoying. It also does not help that series don't mention the episode title as part of the up-titling. I've had multiple series where after ripping once I watched I had to rename episodes to match to correct series order.

So what users is this going to benefit? I have never seen driver instability, this must be for specific, non-standard hardware drivers?
November 18, 2025 at 5:02 PM
My daily development machine is an older i5 with 32GB of memory. building a solution with 103 projects regularly, its not bad and I don' t want to spend € 2500 on an updated machine.

p.s. just allow me to disable all AI features in VS 🙄

I always thought it was Shared Access Signature?

Depending on settings this will be a cloud placeholder. So going offline I might not even have the file I was editing on my local device

I use onedrive but my default location isthe local onedrive folder which gets synced. What MS wants to do is save online directly, then the file gets synced back to my device, where I'm editing the file. !

Hate the entire save dialog from Office. It's so hard to save to a folder I want. Often a sharepoint folde, but the online folder dialog is sooo bad an soooo slow and clumsy

Invest in software like makemkv to rip it to a file and the run emby/jellyfin or plex for a netflix experience

started this four years ago. I tend to scoure goodwill stores for cheap DVD and Bluray and rip them. But you have to keep the original to keep things legal.
No need for streaming with a huge private back catalog of good movies and Tv series

So, it this helpfull advice, or is this upselling me more Azure
September 3, 2025 at 7:00 AM
Aha, and a extra helpfull "Azure Guidance: Use the threat detection capability of Azure Defender services in Microsoft Defender for Cloud for the respective Azure services." seems to want me to buy some Azure Defender features.
September 3, 2025 at 7:00 AM
"Security Principle: To support threat detection scenarios, monitor all known resource types for known and expected threats and anomalies. Configure your alert filtering and analytics rules to extract high-quality alerts from log data, agents, or other data sources to reduce false positives."
September 3, 2025 at 7:00 AM
And what does non compliance on "Enable threat detection capabilities" actually mean? Clicking the item show another window (full width this time) that says:

Why does everything Azure have to look and be so difficult, this is really putting me off, but for some thing I have to use (don't want to use Azure).

Guess I have to go though this multiple times when I want to assign more than 1 policy to an account.
September 3, 2025 at 6:52 AM
Luckily I can exapand the column, just not the popup window that just coversa third of the screen. Aha "...create or update resources." and "...delete rerources". I think I need both.... *NO* no multi select even though the checkboxes in front suggest mutl-select you can only choose 1 at a time.
September 3, 2025 at 6:52 AM
I suppose I should filter on "MFA" for the Basics\Policy definition that I have to choose. Yep, now I only have 2 left.. However my 1920x1080 full screen browser just shows the first part of the two "[Preview]: Usersmust authenticate with multi-factor ..." so I can't actually see what they are
September 3, 2025 at 6:52 AM
And then the helpful links like this one
learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/...

just lists a few generic steps, each option however lists a lot of things.
Tutorial: Self-enforce MFA through Azure Policy - Azure Policy
Learn how to gather audit events or enforce MFA enforcement on your environment
learn.microsoft.com
September 3, 2025 at 6:52 AM
Then the email just say "enable multifactor authentication for you tenant" but I have already enabled this so this is a generic email sent to all "Global administrators" I guess regardless of whether MFA is already enabled or not.

link is not working and cannot bs copied from the text.

This feels more like a push y Microsoft to get more games to become playanywhere without publishers being able to sell games more than once. Not saying that is a bad thing, but this is not MS being good.

I guess you can see how many downloads of the newer package compared to the older one and extrapolate from there
July 9, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Or do you have another device for that. Was looking at the HP Zbook G1A which is a more expensive and less Nvme but does have touch. I really like framework but do hhave to be practical as well.
