We’ve learned more about what she might have and my accommodation just level up with the more knowledge I’m given?? Like that should be how it works imo. Idky people can do similar or like (not that ppl do) but one ex is treat them like a fragile doll that’s gonna break??? They’re HUMAN you know.

All I saw was her tolerance to this heat is probably less then mine which is NORMAL so we just have to adjust -something- but proceed to do all the normal activities I’d do with any of my other friends.
Now as an adult we both realized I’ve been accommodating her even without her having a diagnosis

Ex: one of my friends has been sick all her life. My stupid kid brain said “has its prob just too hot today” and made sure when we ran around our city I got her water, Gatorade, we took pit stops in a/c areas. I never once looked at her like she couldn’t be a functioning person

To take weight off their back at a base level. Often times they tell me how other people don’t even attempt to understand them or their disability but I don’t shy away from it. Which my rebuttal is “wait you have a disability??” Then I get educated on it so I’m even BETTER equipped to help them.

Maybe it’s how I was raised to consider other people. But anytime one of my friends with a disability has a bad flare up day or needs a lil extra help all I’m seeing is “I can make my friends life easier if I just help them” and HELP THEM??? I don’t think about their disability I just want

Can bitches stop being ableist??? People with disabilities and health issues DONT want that I fucking promise you. So if you are going to interact with someone who has a disability you don’t need to treat them like a child?? (Obvi certain cases excluded)
