Lemon Raccoon - Transparent and Accountable
@sultanofcats.bsky.social
Saw a joke about a lemon racoon and that is who I am now 9.25.25

SEA, WA, USA. I post mostly (and welcome convos) about animals, movies and music.

My real life job is to get animals adopted from the shelter I work at. I ❤️ cats, but all animals>people.
It's my birthday! My friend gave me my FIRST polly pocket. So cool. Lives up to the hype.

I'm rewatching Fall of the House of Usher and you are so terrifying in it! A lawyer, the gravely voice, sort of maybe probably murdering people... 👏👏👏

Astoria, OR representing! Its a terrible angle, not very representative of the number of people or surprisingly joyful mood, but also I did not get hit by a car

October 14: The Other. Another new one for me, and very good! Well done concept, great acting by all (especially the girls) and a decent slow burn up to the reveal.

October 13: House of Spoils. Wasn't sure about this one but it turned out to be super enjoyable! There's some silliness, over dramatic-ness, and straight up unsafe behavior (DON'T EAT THAT!) but if you can overlook that stuff, pretty great. Low key horror-y so good for beginners. ;)

October 12: Black Sheep. A fantastic body horror... about sheep. In NZ. Weta Workshop did the practical so obviously it's exceptional

Late Oct 11: Dark City. Maybe more sci-fi but there's some scary shit too. Rufus Sewell, Jennifer Connolly, William Hurt (RIP). Oh! And Keifer! Rodger Ebert called it the best film of 1998!

Late Oct 10: The Faculty. All star cast. Stan just won an Emmy for The Pitt! Jon Stewart in his best role. Piper Laurie. Robert Patrick. Clea Duval. Elijah Woods. Jordana Brewster. Josh Hartnett. USHER. Salma Hayek. Famke Jansson. Laura Harris. And more! Alien takeover!

Late Oct 9: The Host. A great S Korean creature film. The kind where you feel bad for the creature. Seems like such a NICE beast...

October 8: Wolf Man (2025). Watching this for the first time, am only 1/2 an hour in. Nice and creepy, but I'm feeling a lot of The Shining vibes. And Julia Garner is just too pretty, or ethereal, or something, just very distracting. Hopefully the werewolves end up being cool...

October 7th: Puppetmaster 1 - 12? I think? I just love these little guys. Then there's some aliens, and evil dolls, but basically they're the good guys and are anti-Nazi! I have a bunch of the action figures. Except Leech Woman cuz, you know, ew.

October 6: Cube (1997). And oldie but a goodie! The original escape room. Trivia: all of the characters are named after prisons.

I have a particular affinity for the very French looking gentleman (he's not) who is the first death. I always say, loudly, "you got CUBED!" 😃

October 5: Uzumaki (or Spiral), 2000. I saw this when I was still scared of horror movies so I was very proud of myself. There's an animated show on HBO that's more recent, based more specifically on the Junji Ito manga. Also good, but I'll always be a fan of this movie.

October 4: Hereditary. It starts so slow and weird but still normal. Then it goes bat shit insane, and just gets worse. I saw it in the theater and looked it up as soon as it was over. It DOES make sense but it's not something you can guess! Great actors all around. *tounge click*

October 3: Vivarium. Guess Im going with unsettling films that actually made me feel queasy, cuz most things don't get to me anymore.

This one; the lack of control and autonomy, the weirdness, and the end especially... ugh. All very natural if you think of a cuckoo if it were... other?

October 2 (late, of course): Drive Back. I'm still not entirely sure what "the answers" are, but there's a sort of time loop? Maybe doppelgangers or alternate realities? Worth a watch, for unsettling keep-you-guessing "good" time!

October horror movie time! Let's see if I can post every day! Please do not bring up the nightmare hellscape that is the USA!

Hellraiser 2022. SO GOOD. Love the new cenobytes and sound effects. Odessa A'zion is perfect as the protagonist, and Jaime Clayton is a MAGNIFICENT new pinhead.
