NEW: Video shared with me from a bystander in DC shows multiple masked federal agents (at least one of whom appears to have an ICE badge) violently attacking and handcuffing a delivery worker in the street outside Bluestone Lane cafe near Logan Circle this morning.

UPDATE — DHS spokesperson confirms delivery worker Cristian Enrique Carias Torres was brutalized by six ICE agents in DC on Saturday for being undocumented and having traffic violations. The administration says they’re “proud” of their agents.

The full despicable statement provided to me here:
Attributable to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin: “In the face of menacing taunts and harassment, this law enforcement officer conducted himself with dignity and did not violate DHS policy. As you see in the video, his fellow officer was on the ground with a bloody head and concussion due to violent resistance from the illegal alien they were apprehending. “Cristian Enrique Carias Torres is an illegal alien from Venezuela who illegally entered the United States under the Biden Administration in 2023. He has a final order of removal from an immigration judge, issued that same year. Additionally, he has repeatedly failed to appear for multiple court dates in Maryland related to a long list of traffic crimes, for which he currently has active warrants. This illegal alien has shown time and time again total disregard for the rule of law in the United States of America. “We are proud of the brave men and women of ICE who are facing a 1000% increase in assaults as cowardly politicians and activists encourage violence against them. “Because this increase in violence against them and doxing of their spouses and children, our officers often wear masks to protect themselves and their families from being targeted by highly sophisticated gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13, criminal rings, murderers, and rapists. Our officers did identify themselves and had their badges clearly visible.”
