I wonder how long these special edition LA Metro maps will stay up. Also, can I have one when they‘re taken down?

New fare gates have been installed at the 7th St/Metro Center station!

I'm going to say something politically contentious: "high quality" is higher quality.

I can't stop looking at this poster.

A look down the newly-viewable tunnel toward Wilshire/La Brea from the Wilshire/Western stations! We’ll be riding in that tunnel soon people!

Just spotted an archaic use of the word “for” outside a coffee shop.

“The cities will be part of the country; I shall live 30 miles from my office in one direction, under a pine tree; my secretary will live 30 miles away from it too, in the other direction, under another pine tree. We shall both have our own car... —LE CORBUSIER (1967)”

We filled an entire parklet!
They say no one supports more bike lanes...but then a bunch of urbanists meet and use every outdoor chair at a restaurant and there's still not enough.
Way to go, Strong Towns Santa Barbara!

Sometimes you start with a "ville" and end up with a whole "town."

The mark of a good local urbanists meeting: you fill up the entire parklet.

Ok, can someone explain this?
The sign said the next train to NoHo was in 16 minutes, but it pulled in 6 minutes after I took that picture. As the train pulled in, the other sign said the next train was in 8 minutes—even though it was right there!

Bike (*?) on the train. Oh yeah!

When your parking lot is bigger than your attraction.
Like 10X bigger.

W need protected lanes, people!
A new study found that if every city expanded its bike lane network and redesigned streets to match Copenhagen, global walking and biking rates would increase by 412 billion miles per year — reducing emissions from private cars by 6%.

I love a restaurant with paper tablecloths!

Interesting that the LA curfew map lines up with the freeway donut that surrounds downtown. Maybe there should be an actual city with residents inside that space instead of office buildings, warehouses, and 30% of land as parking lots.

How do you like flight updates in the BRT station that leads to the airport @thetransitguy.com?

I think we need planning-themed Standup Comedy. There’s clearly and audience for it @strongtowns.org

Went on a tour of where the Freeway was torn down in Downtown Providence. 15 years later, most of the land has been filled in with offices, housing, a Trader Joe’s, and restaurants. The riverfront park is thriving.
Let’s do more freeway removals!
