What is meant by the post above,is shaming and ridiculing them where they feel strong. Not shaming them based on universalist values. But for taking on children with grenade launchers and speaking of riots when 2, or more people start filming them!

I think it makes more sense to judge the man on his local politics, no? He wants to combat cost of living and tax the wealthiest. These are in Europe social-democrate talking points, i.e. centrist. Jumping on the Israel-Palestine bandwagon does not make much sense for a mayoral election.

If you were to isolate China from that chart, I'm guessing the curve would look much flatter. Strong contrast atm between "drill baby drill" in the US and China's focus on renewables.

I don't think European leaders are looking for a "Magic Bullet". I think they are just trying to stop the bleeding, no? EU rhetoric on Chinese policy has always clashed with actual economic policy? For better or worse, these two may now align because of Trump...

If it's not about international or global power, which always comes with complications, maybe this "elite" cares more about control of its (internal) population. Which Mafia Boss would love to have fleets or missiles and foreign armed conflict?
