This does *not* make this ongoing shit with Unbound/Boundless better, Tom, but I saw a copy of 21st C. Yokel out in the wild in Bradford on Avon today, and I bloody well bought it, because, well, you.

JOHN LENNON stands up. He is so tall that his head instantly enters a cloud.
TALL JOHN: Hello Yoko.
RINGO STARR: (anxiously) Mo, did you pack the beans. Mo? MO? MAL?!
AMERICAN GEORGE HARRISON: You’ll complete this fucking meditation course and become global ambassadors for TM, Hare Krishna.

Oh it’s wonderful. I just always see lots of people picking holes. The seven parters have always had a bit of that treatment, but Ambassadors, in all its jump cut glory, is wonderful. Michael Ferguson absolutely pulls it together, then gives the action reply machine a fucking good kick.

There are some that just can’t stop laying into it, but I adore it. Sure, it’s a hot mess of scripting, production and a patchwork quilt of a restoration, but it’s tense, imaginative, and full of incredible, often very bugged-out imagery.
