I was in a still kinda rural Western suburb for the last two decades and rabbits and skunks lived under my porch (til I got humane traps). I saw my first goundhogs, moles and possums there too with raccoons, deer, and a rooster who kept escaping his hatch! A neighbor still rode his horse!

I was in the 'burbs for a long time and there are Trader Joe's and high-end markets galore along with Indian markets close by. There's also an Asian grocery & restaurant area on the other side of town I've wanted to cruise. My mobility is limited these days but hopefully that will be changing soon!

See, that's what I imagine: a complex melding of flavors you can't quite name! For ex. Pad Thai tastes sweet & umami with a citrus the American palate can't place at first that turns out to be tamarind & other flavors the novice can't duplicate at home (with any combo of their usual spices)!
