Retired social scientist. My week is made of 6 Saturdays and a Sunday, which I spend upcycling trash into treasures. Currently live in MO - thoughts and prayers welcomed.
Started some seeds last weekend & ordered a few more packets (because one can never have enough seeds). A few chives, zinnias, and gomphrena have germinated. I get so excited when I see the new little sprouts that I check on them almost hourly.

I was at the other place earlier reading comments on Mexico's response. It was painful. For messaging to stand any chance, it needs to be developed by a 2nd grade teacher.

I'm in this category. I receive widow benefits supposedly based on my husband's earnings. I was surprised that those were reduced based on *my* state pension.

Social Security is already reduced for people who have pensions (eg railroad). It's an anomaly that federal pensions aren't treated that way.

My mother used to buy 1 or 2 extra turkeys when they were on sale around the holidays and have the butcher cut them down the middle. She would freeze the halves to cook at other times of the year.

I spent time on the site earlier. I must say, it's my favorite. I appreciate the germination tips. I also love that she has pictures of the mature plants amongst other plants for scale as well as pics of seedlings and, oh yeah, closeups of the flowers. Just have to decide what to buy now.
