But I love these characters, so as much as a part of me wants to rewrite it, I resist because this encapsulates an era of time. A past me I can look at fondly grateful that she grew out of being in her own way. (3)

When I wrote this over 15 years ago I hadn’t found my voice. I was copying what I thought would be a successful style till I could find it. I still love it but cringe hard at some of the mistakes I made trying to fit a genre instead of trying to invent my own. (2)

This book is not the first book I finished. The first book I finished was Sandra’s Social. I’ll get to it later. The first book I published however was this one. Make Mine a Heel. It’s a personal book for me in a lot of ways and it generated interesting confusion in my life. Worth it. (1)

Feeling nostalgic and going through my portfolio. It’s like visiting my first love which was visual art. Not my last but more of a gateway. I’m a greedy artist. I sing, I write, make jewelry. I’ve tried everything even dance though I stopped that for everyone’s sake.
