That’s lovely. I hand wrote some song lyrics into my note book this morning and my handwriting was appalling. I blame too much keyboard use! I’m out of practice!

Go Caerphilly among that débris.

Excellent. My double snowdrops managed to be just open today. They usually hit Burns Night and haven't failed me this year either.

I must re-read that (having a red-headed husband!)

I have more or less decided to call it "Thinking Space" rather than "opinions". I want solutions rather than whinges.

Oh I agree. And in French it’s also a homophone so it’s a bit of a joke - lieues (leagues) sounds almost identical to lieux (places).
FWIW, I also originally thought the leagues were measured vertically like fathoms.

The original title was "20,000 lieues sous les mers" - "Twenty thousand leagues, beneath the seas". If he'd meant vertical depth he'd have written "au-dessous de la mer". (And I think even in Verne's time nobody thought the oceans were as deep as 20K leagues?)

isn't the 20,000 leagues the distance the Nautilus travelled under the sea, rather than the depth it went to?
But I agree, I often find myself on the side of the "thing" that's supposed to be the antagonist.
