Are you implying everyone who volunteers is ancient? volunteering takes place in the community so lots of social interaction. Also grandparents have lots of contact with children & young people & their education & housing issues etc

I’m 78 and been retired many years & my brain is still functioning. It doesn’t have to be paid work, volunteering is very rewarding & helps the local community.

I had a wonderful day there recently & got cheap advance fare which was very reasonable! What a jaundiced view!

The BBC used to be my favourite listening but I have gradually stopped over the last few years, it has already gravitated to Reform, so nothing new here.
