Haven’t you spread enough dangerous misinformation about the law?

I think that we should also spare a thought for the girls who no longer need to worry about sharing changing facilities with boys.

Trans women are frequently assaulted and are entitled to support services as well, just not the same ones as female rape victims attend.

The q'n about rape crisis centres was whether a woman who has been raped is entitled to expect that the RCC is accepts males. Many women self-exclude because that was not guaranteed. It is not about whether those males would be abusive; it is often a visceral fear of all men following an assault.

And this one in Brighton where a rape victim attended a support group which had a man joined (presenting as male). It is hard to express how difficult it is for a rape victim to engage with a man whilst she is dealing with her trauma. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-6195...

Well, there was a pretty big case inEdinburgh last year where the RCC was actually being run by a male. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

When a woman goes to a rape crisis centre, she has the right to expect that there are no males there (staff or service users). This was not at all clear until yesterday's judgement. It is not anti trans, it is supporting women.

OK, thats fair, I guess they will have to look at the GRC law and see if it makes sense.

I have no idea to be honest. I am sure that loads of lawyers will be looking at the implications

Oh, 26 days ago? yes I did. I was asking you to address today's decision.

(And yes Helen is a shero)

There we go, the scarcely veiled threats. Men will be men.😆

I did not quote Helen Joyce, I am sitting on my sofa writing a bluesky reply 😆. Lets stick to the facts.
April 16, 2025 at 9:34 AM
but they are not though are they. Read the judgement.

What has Helen Joyce got to do with it? Part of the problem here is that many women have had enough of not being listened to and your response, which does not address the point, is utterly typical of that.

Why is this surprising? The judges clarified the law in a straightforward, logical way which protects women's rights whilst stressing that trans people are still protected under the Equality Act
