I’m a retired librarian. I started working in a small public library when I was 15 and retired at 64. I love books, art, and music. I like to share reading interests with other people and I’m a devoted punster with a good sense of humor.
I think that It is extremely troubling that even the Supreme Court’s conservative justices are not upholding the
Constitutional balance of power between the three branches of government. They are enabling a dictatorship.

I talked to someone this afternoon who said that the Republicans may experience shock at the polls in the 2026 midterm elections as a result of today’s passage of the big BS bill
Elections might be a thing of the past. He controls Congress, the courts, and has mobilized his own strike force.

The Republican lawmakers have passed that execrable bill!

I had some tiny hope that compassion or conscience would override the need to grant billionaires a tax break at the expense of those who require SNAP assistance and Medicaid help.

How can Republicans possibly justify this?

Where’s the pushback/confrontation/response from Democratic leaders to Trump’s blatantly unconstitutional executive orders? It doesn’t do any good to try to work with him. Get vocal and tell citizens how we can effectively challenge his actions. Show us some leadership.

I plan to spend my energy on encouraging people and supporting them. I’m not willing to stop reading news sources that I trust but I’m balancing my time because I know it will make me anxious if I read a constant stream of new Trump catastrophes.
