I have been eyeing some tote bags at the local photo studio that offers to customize the designs. It took me many years to convince myself that printing my book covers on one wouldn't be a tacky idea. Now, I can visit the library with a mini book promotion on my shoulder.

Please note: 'was proud'

I had and have so much more to learn. More in the post.

Celebrating the pairs in my novels. ♥️

Love makes the story go round, whether it's a mystery, speculative fiction, or ecological fiction!

This is my most popular book, sold 250+ copies so far.
I have not made any reels nor am I on Tik Tok. But fortunately, I found some lovely readers through my family, friends and via The Sunday Book Club, an online book club.
Eternally grateful to all those who read and reviewed. 🙏

This is an excerpt from my short story titled, Without an Agenda, written in May last year.

I didn't know then that staring would be a national obsession by 2025. 🤣

A colleague asked me:
'What’s your view on AI and creative writing? Are we going to see more “ai-ghost written” books ?'

This was my answer.

My 2024 Reading List.

I wanted to write a detailed post but that will have to wait until my vacation gets over, and I get to my laptop.

I have just started Orbital, a science fiction by Samantha Harvey, and this year's Booker Prize winner.

I try to read a mix of genres but last year was heavily skewed towards books I enjoy. Next year I want to add more humour. :)

As I reached the end of the book, my daughter remarked, "I haven't seen you read a book so quickly unless it's a mystery." I enjoyed this one immensely. A book about a life dedicated to science, and the life we see all around us but choose to ignore. Our green co-inhabitants.

A moment to cherish. With Sheela Tomy, author of Valli, at the Kannur Literary Festival.
Got my dad's copy signed by the author.

Current read

Just a few pages in, and it looks promising. I have grown up around trees, and fallen in love with them. The memoir of a geochemist who admires plants felt like a good choice to rekindle my childhood memories, and also dream of a career that could have been.

The last of the 8 book series I started in October. The last two have more political intrigue than the rest. Overall, a good series to binge-read, particularly, if you enjoy irreverent, witty characters and dialogues.

This is the second time I am picking up this book only to realise that it's not the right one.
I mistook Slough House to be the first in the series and now again, after the fifth book, London Rules, I missed Joe Country and picked this one instead 🙃
But I'll only read in the intended order. 🤓
