bees are a lotttt. maybe check for an in-person spring/summer class on keeping near you. i did that & it was a lot less overwhelming! hands-on learning ftw. chickens are okay in places with raccoons if you build them a fortress (or buy a prefab one) to lock them in at night, + fenced-in area to roam
