Donut economics by Kate Raworth is the best model so far to map out the whole system changes needed to live on a healthy planet for the long term. Individual issues eg climate change can silo our attention when we need to change the whole system

Flowering now in my garden, the West Australian native plant Templetonia retusa, also called Cockies' Tongue (Cockies short for Cockatoos), about 4cm, that survive tough conditions - poor soil, part shade, limestone, long hot summers, bringing joy and brightness.

One of my favourite pastimes is getting out into the bush north of Perth, where the sandplains with very poor soils, have more diversity than a rainforest. In Spring everywhere there is wonder and colour to behold.
