Like if I make a wizard with -1 int and 5 STR or a fighter with negative CON 0 dex 0 str... then it's just on me really, not on the system. Sure you could put guardrails against it but... really?

The point is that it's using 5e where they always claimed "multiclassing is optional, use at your own risk" so the game was "designed" for no multiclass, same with feats, so those playstyles of multiclassing or not using ASIs for your main stat is just... not regarded.

You're overthinking it, just assume you'll have your main stat properly alloted (+3 lvl 1, +4 lvl4 and +5 lvl 8) add corresponding profficiency and +1 weapon at 5, +2 at 11 and +3 at 15. You now know your + to hit at every level, then for that level put the AC you want for the monster.
