My late older brother was a raging bi-polar whose moods changed like a light switch. Once he threatened me, I cut him off for 6 years until he had a stroke, his left side paralyzed. He became an easygoing guy after that. But later, he reverted his old self, but couldn't physically lash out anymore.

I looked around me and thought "What the...? Why is everyone standing at attention for a Broadway show tune?" Got some really annoyed looks from others. I had come from SoCal prior and I can assure you, we never heard "I Love You, California" at a school assembly, let alone had to stand up for it.

I was enrolled into 9th grade at Capitol Hill Junior High in Oklahome City. First assembly there, the national anthem played and everyone stood. Upon its conclusion, we all sat down. The next thing I knew, they played Oscar and Hammerstein's "Oklahoma" and everybody shot up to their feet except me.

Everywhere his ugly name is displayed. 🖕🖕
