Ok this is really interesting but also 1 big reason for govt to get into low-margin businesses is that private companies may choose locations/business models for them that maximize slim margins but don't maximize people's access to essential goods/services, see also: health care

I don't really like Internet diagnosis but his syntax gets closer and closer to aphasic. He used to speak actual sentences, with grammar. They were stupid sentences, but they were sentences, not these all-purpose frames

I would need to go find documentation, I'll try. I recall eliciting it w/some grad school classmates. We thought it was because so much of the data was scraped from companies' parallel websites--"Contact us: xyz NY, NY" on EN page corresponding to "Contactez-nous: xyz Paris" on FR page

Reminds me of the early days of Google Translate when it would, eg, translate English "New York" into French "Paris." Basically the same mechanism I think
