sometimes i wish i knew of a blancolirio for backcountry accidents. i feel like the swiss cheese model and getthereitis is pertinent to how people end up at the bottom of cliffs

ok, now realizing my next biggest gripe with the lack of shut-off valves throughout the house is now i have no way to flush or wash the thing i just took out of the plumbing

but if i'd had a shut-off valve isolating this one problematic piece... i could be flushing it out in a basin right now
November 20, 2025 at 3:18 AM
is it boomer-logic or a landlord-special that we have valves on the hot water going into the clothes washer hookup, but absolutely no where else on the house hot water?

it makes it real "fun" to **isolate** and troubleshoot a clogged hot water line (yes, even with the cold and main shut off)

"oneida community made" on this very vintage pewter cup is apparently a reference to a white people cult and not the actual oneida people

i guess they've been stealing our names since forever

ozma tippetarius
The reason they have to keep making Wizard of Oz prequels is if they went *forward* then they'd have to let people know about Ozma, and Hollywood will not, absolutely will *not*, ever allow that to happen

i've been trying to avoid plastics my whole mostly because plastics seem wasteful and unsustainable. and just hoping that the last century of plastic manufacturing has proven them mostly inert

but you know, maybe all those prop 65 warnings weren't for nothing

maybe i'm being too picky, but if i see a job using dotnet then i'm assuming a windows dev machine and that's a pass for me

i don't know how people tolerate working in that environment, especially as a web developer: incompatible file system, permissions, line endings, time keeping, file names, etc
