Really makes me nostalgic for that classic Wilde/Chris Jericho feud in the WWF, y'know.

Yeah, though since I grew up watching the Sci-Fi era eps, I grew accustomed to the faster pace, so it was hard for me to adjust to the Joel era once I got around to them. It was worth it though, since there are some gems in that period; "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians", anyone?

...if you want an amazing series finale you can watch without a ton of homework, Star Trek: The Next Generation's "All Good Thing..." is perfect for that, since you can just watch the pilot beforehand (which isn't good, to warn you), and then you'll have all the essential info you need to enjoy it.

It's the series finale of The Shield, and it's fucking devastating; I think I remember you saying that you were hesitant to watch that show because of its length though, and because a lot of people say it doesn't get truly great until the halfway point (which is pretty much true, to be fair), but...

Have you ever watched "Family Meeting", then?

16. For 2026, it is your job and mine to be kind. To help others. That’s the one thing we’re all here to do, and the thing that most makes life worth it.

So let’s fucking go, team.

Yeah, there was so much stuff that didn't work in that one. Plus, they decided to have the forced moral be "You can't have everything", and I just thought "Yeah, but Wiig's character didn't want too much by just wanting to not be a lonely loser, silly movie..."

Well that sounds like a bit of an overreaction, if you ask me.

Yeah, Seagal never liked to seem weak, and make light of himself at all; that's why he was such a terrible choice to host SNL back in the day: youtu.be/dWyNMVfPeOA?...

Yup; let him direct all he wants (minus maybe some lens flares here and there), just PLEASE keep him away from writing anything, for the love of Pete.

SHUTTER ISLAND (Martin Scorsese, 2010)

I don't think it's worthwhile to look for realism or answers in the scripted logic of SI, because the emotional truth keeps returning. It's about running into the shadows to get away from what you've seen & felt before. It's a Val Lewton technique.

Yup; I remember there were some kids sitting behind me when I saw The Prestige who were talking, even after the opening narration was starting, so I had to turn around and ask them to stop talking, upon which they immediately got up and left the theater.

I'd prefer if it was back in Pog form, but I suppose this'll have to do.

Well, the meaning of the final scene might be read as slightly ambiguous, but it's really not that hard to figure out.
December 4, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Yup; it gets inevitably corrupted by the hierarchy/human element like every organized religion to one extent or another, but the core of the faith (love God, accept Jesus as your savior, and love your neighbors as you do yourself) is all good, IMO.

Oh, okay; I wouldn't say it was quite on the level of "Malcolm X" by Royce da 5'9 as far as diss tracks go, but that was still pretty good, heh.
