Yeah the numerous vacuum lines are definitely among those “soft bits” I referred to that need periodic attention. And I’ll be first to admit that car almost certainly won’t impress nearly as many people as really any of the other 3, but a clean and well kept one will impress the right people.

I still would argue the W123 sedan is the most *tasteful* of the four options that still says “I work for a living”. Especially if it’s loved and cared for, clean and maintained. It’s slow and understated, but it’s honest and stalwart.

My parents had a white 4 speed 240D about the same vintage with brown interior when I was growing up, grandparents had the same car with blue interior, other grandparents had the 300 turbodiesel. Engine runs forever, but soft bits get old and need love. 0-60 (even with turbo+manual): “sure, kid.”

The original 1973 release was only in theaters; the film was shelved and then re-released in 1982 before it became the first animated Disney Classic to be released on home media in 1984. The timing is actually pretty good for early millennials to have been exposed to it growing up. :)

I find the knowledge that I’m doing things that contribute to long term physical and mental health regardless of what the scale says to be helpful in motivating when outwardly it doesn’t feel like I’ve made much progress. Then going out for a bike ride feels like treating myself rather than work.
