Not being a subscriber, this is all I can read of the The Daily Telegraph article about the "discovery" of Busby's Bore under the Allianz Stadium carpark construction site. It's not a "sewer", but I suspect the use of that word is an indication of the tone of the article. Its also not a "surprise"!

The White Australia Policy was a shamelessly racist government policy, implemented by a notorious dictation test for prospective migrants. My great grandfather, Fazee Khan, emigrated in the 1890s, but required this certificate to exempt him from the test upon reentry after a visit to India in 1908.

I was appointed to the Wilcannia Weir Replacement Project Review Panel by the NSW Water Minister. On a recent visit, I got to speak with several Barkindji and they spoke of deep cultural & spiritual connections to the Baarka River. It’s an essential town water supply, but it’s so much more as well.
