I haven’t introduced you to my other studio cat, Belle. She’s very sweet with the most charming trills and meows. Her favorite hobby is laying down on my watercolor WIP when I’m not looking. She does love watching me paint 🎨 😻

My aunt just sent me cuttings and seed pods from my grandmother’s Easter cactus, Rhipsalidopsis gaertneri. I’m so happy I get to have a plant from her. To give you an idea of how old it is, my mother was born in 1937. I was a late in life baby. The cuttings are a little dehydrated, hence the jar.
Easter cactus plant cuttings in a closed jar on top of moist perlite. The jar is on top of one of my studio desks with art supplies and paper in the background. The moisture will help rehydrate them so they have a better chance of taking off.

Photograph of the forest floor in the foothills of the Cascades. Rising through a mat of pine needles are small green shamrock like plants. Behind them are more plants fading into the darker background. When sunlight hits oxalis leaves they close up to protect themselves, then pop back up when the shade returns. I found this little group at our campsite one morning in Estacada Oregon. Fun fact about our family: we won a camper in 2018. It’s adorable and yellow.
