At the end of the storm there's a golden sky. Husband, father & left leaning Red. ST holder since the days of the Kemlyn. Make mine a Guinness.
Aye, Forest belt out 'Mull of Kintyre' every match, but y'know they hate scouse bastards 😆

Straight up to Carlisle & then the A69. Take any opportunity to stop at Tebay services.

51 years ago I went to a Mott the Hoople gig. The support band was called Queen. I knew nothing about them but what a performance they put on. Afterwards I saw their lead singer & actually shook hands with him. Little did I know just what global superstars Freddie & Queen would become.

Not content with their home grown taches, they even bought in some beauts from abroad. I believe it was his magnificent tache that attracted Sampdoria to Graeme Souness in the summer of 84. Graeme having showcased it spectacularly in the Olympic Stadium a month or so earlier as Roma would testify.

Seconded. Written by Tim Parks it's a great study of Italian football & culture from a fans perspective. It's over 20 years old now but remains one of the best football books I've ever read.

Lad I worked with was diagnosed over 10 years ago. He has routine treatment & is still living life to the full. My dad suffered from prostate cancer as well but left it far later than he should to have the symptoms checked out. I get tested every 6 months because of that family history.

Have I missed Verona? Wife wasn't too pleased when we took a side trip from our holiday in Lake Garda a few years back to hunt it out. I blamed it on that Tim Park's book 'A Season with Verona' Highly recommended.

I'd call in at Woods for the best coffee in Tynemouth & an indulgent pastry, seeing that it's Friday.

Tony Hateley (one for the oldies)

Wonderful in the air but woeful on the deck.

Story went that he took a blow to the head one match. Paisley tended to him & reported back to Shanks that the lad was so dazed he didn't know who he was. Shanks said tell him he's Pele 😁
