As the public discourse around sex and gender pops up again - I think about the kid who hears ‘nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution’ - but who doesn’t see themselves represented. I wrote this for them.

I am now "very well endowed" @LSUS (i.e. I now have 2 endowed positions)! Both are w/ our small life science #museum, housing vertebrates (regional, Africa, Mexico), some spiders and crawfish, but also the largest collection of freshwater mussels in the southeast!
