But then you run into the gameplay problem of them being so specifically flame-focused, where all the others we mentioned are very jack-of-all-trades weapon-wise.

And I definitely think there's potential with the Salamanders character-wise, since they're allowed to be more human and less above-it-all than the rest of the Astartes.
