The thing that's great about Poirot? He gets into these things acting like "ohoho, what a fascinating challenge", but it's often a façade...once stuff starts getting serious, he reveals in bursts of outrage that justice is his true motivation, too.

I've discussed my gentleman sleuth graph before, but I'll repeat this one aspect;

Sherlock, from what I've ascertained, is really only in it to satisfy the whims of his detective powers.

Columbo doesn't care about showing off, he's only in it for the justice.

Also, while pilot suits aren't a big deal in ESCAFLOWNE, wanna throw Dilandau in there for the fantasy rep

Gotta love Chirico Cuvie from Armored Trooper VOTOMS

And if we're looking at it from a gameplay perspective...Space Wolves and Blood Angels basically fill the same niche, bloodthirsty berserker shock troops. Blood Angels are just more emo about it.

Like...it's PROBABLY jusy that they have fewer scruples than we'd like for them to have. But part of me almost wonders if the celebs getting a call asking them to do voices don't even realize this is the same company that's trying to make Jim Caviezel a star again.

And I really don't like how they've seeming gotten regular celebrities into their orbit with an easy paycheck for a short VO section. Like, I don't think Mark Hamill or whoeverwould ever agree appear physically onscreen in something like Sound of Freedom, but the cartoons seem to slip through?

Like, doing a game where you play as a lone Salamander leading a squad of normal humans? Fantastic.

But then you run into the gameplay problem of them being so specifically flame-focused, where all the others we mentioned are very jack-of-all-trades weapon-wise.

...for the Arthuriana aesthetic of the Dark Angels, because they're otherwise still just very standard honorable knight stuff.

And I definitely think there's potential with the Salamanders character-wise, since they're allowed to be more human and less above-it-all than the rest of the Astartes.

I love the Blood Angels, but yeah, they specifically would need to lean into the niche appeal of them being vampires.

But I feel like you could still more or less have a broad appeal with the Viking coding of Space Wolves, or trading the Roman aesthetic of Ultramar...

We can't really get SPACE MARINE 3 starring another faction, because we've now tied that specific game subfranchise to one specific character. But like, if Space Marine 2 had been a new story starring a Space Wolf or Salamander or Blood Angel, we'd probably be having different conversations.

It's really just that they're the overexposed poster boys. If they were weighted more equally as just A Faction of Space Marines, people could appreciate that characterization. And I think, from what I've seen, people DO kinda get it, because everyone DOES agree Guilliman himself is cool.
