Don’t know whether any of the little group following me have read #TheBookThief by Markus Zusak

A neighbour gave it to me

I’d been going through Japanese authors - Murakami, Ishiguro, Kawaguchi - and this
broke the pattern. Ten pages a night. It’s extraordinary

Watched #Wicked

Such a brilliant, funny, inventive film

Didn’t expect it to be so emotional

Monday night and the cinema in Solihull was packed

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are both incredible

Heard a nice piece today

Bluebird by Alexis Ffrench (two Fs)

Bit similar to the theme tune from Transparent

In the spirit of nice Bluesky sharing, and I imagine people know this but even if one person hears it for the first time it’s a win - Shostakovich 2nd piano concerto second movement.

Half way through #Yellowstone season 1.

Reminds me of a horse riding holiday I took on my own with my two sons, then 15 and 13 in Colorado. All big vistas, eagles and humming birds.

Did white water rafting. In Denver got upgraded to the hotel penthouse that had two kitchens and a grand piano

@dieworkwear.bsky.social is one of the reasons I’m on social media. Love his posts
The Washington Post reports that Michael Anton and Sebastian Gorka had a falling out over who should receive credit for writing Trump's speeches. This is incorrect. In this thread, I will tell you the real reason why Anton dislikes Gorka. 🧵

That and upsetting my local art society.

My son just read me your poem Epilogue on the tube

So touching

No popularity contest, no magic wish. Just two clouds ofloneliness converging in a clap of thunderlight,
a starlit dream to cradle us till next winter.

But the purest memory is the storybook moment when we stood there, rain-drenched girls, elbow-high, and for once we became the characters we pencilled to paper like prayers as she asked the question every ten-year-old soul
wants to hold in her heartbeat forever: can we be best friends?

My 22 yr old son said he read this poem on the tube today. Think it’s beautiful

Called Epilogue by Dawn Sands

Don’t have enough characters so will paste in another post

Might just post comedy on here for now

If you like #Snuffbox, you’ll like #ToastofLondon and if you like that you’ll like #GarthMarenghi

Matt Berry in them

I also loved #Quacks which was sort of period medical

If you like Quacks you’ll probably love #Hunderby

I know lots of people are saying it but it’s such a relief to be on a platform where one can share passions and not be met with some snarky comment.

Another comedy I was thinking about recently was #Snuffbox with Matt Berry and Rich Fulcher (don’t know if they’re on here). Have a google. X
