Once again, the Felon-in-Chief uses a tragic disaster to heap groundless blame on his political rivals. He did the same thing to us here in California a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone still actually believe him?

ART IS LIFE #1: This obscure 1973 film, directed by Lindsay Anderson and starring Malcolm McDowell, is both a surreal satire on British society and a loose sketch of McDowell's own early life. It's also a personal touchstone that has helped me through some of the darker passages of my life.

Coincidence? I was just thinking about Garth Hudson last night, reflecting that he was the last surviving member of one of my very, very favorite groups and wondering how he was doing and how much longer he'd be around. Then this. All of them are gone now, but The Band's superb music remains..
