I think I may have hit on a better way for me to extract a color palette for painting these photos. Posterize the image first then you get distinct color separation.

Dying Fetus finished out the night. Not only do these three guys play super technical stuff at high speed, but the bassist and guitarist both have great death metal vocals. The last song saw an endless stream of crowd surfers. I loved it, but my feet were killing me after standing for 6 hours.

Fleshgod Apocalypse from Italy. I listened to a few tracks before the show and decided they weren't really my jam, but you know what? They rocked. Amazing energy coming off the stage. You couldn't help but enjoy them.

Neo Obliviscaris was next. I didn't know what to think initially about the violin, but they made it rock. Again, the musicianship of this band was outstanding. Great vocals, background vocals, growling, and instrumentation.

Undeath was also great. Their bass player especially blew my mind with how good he was.

Next up at The Van Buren was Vomit Forth. They put on a good show but spent a lot of time trying to work up the crowd. Finally did at the end.
