Yeah so, we won’t be doing any rebuilding. The people with absolute gigantic wealth and means will. The whole idea is to slash, burn, privatize, and force the working class into a more and more desperate situation. If we let it burn, it won’t be pretty on the other side

Sorry about the link: www.pewresearch.org/journalism/2...

Yeah it covers gender bias, sexism and a ton of other things across left wing and right wing spaces but both articles claim Reddit is a left leaning or liberal space. Like another commenter claimed, while unfortunate, both can be true.

Presidential candidates were mentioned in over 350,000 comments in May, June and September 2015, with a high level of early interest in Bernie Sanders

So I absolutely believe you had bad experiences. However there has been research into this, Reddit is heavily male and also skews liberal overall. That doesn’t mean that assholes on there can’t be sexist though

Quantifying gender biases towards politicians on Reddit
Despite attempts to increase gender parity in politics, global efforts have struggled to ensure equal female representation. This is likely tied to implicit gender biases against women in authority. I...

It’s hard but I think at this point most of us have tried everything to reach the people in our lives with reason, evidence, etc. but it’s largely not working. Many of these folks only understand things when it affects them directly. Impossible choice for you to make though, hope things get better.

Yeah my understanding is that this is a vehicle for bribes or payoffs. The rubes buying the coins is like icing on the cake. Hence why the majority scam coins are typically held by one person.

What’s the word for your argument here? Oh that’s right false equivalency. Harris not being extremely left leaning does not make her right wing. Especially when considering the stances and policies of right wing parties across the globe today, in reality.
January 23, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Also as I’m sure you know, since you are a defender of right wing ideals, is that the Nazi’s were literally a far right political organization. This is known, it’s not up for debate. Additionally in the academic classifications of the political spectrum, facists are, unsurprisingly,on the right side
January 23, 2025 at 7:33 PM
Ok let’s try again. Right-wing parties across the globe have increased ties to nazis when compared to any center or more progressive parties. This is not unique to America, just more visible here now. Harris does not fit the definition of a facist, and you know this.
January 23, 2025 at 7:30 PM
I know you aren’t interested in discussion but if your politicians attend nazi rally’s, listen to nazi advisors, and have literal nazis funding them they are facists. You can sit here and split hairs on “right wing” political ideas but in practice they are facist. Self reflect if you are capable.

That’s a lot, I have noticed that much of my feed is bigger subs like r/worldnews r/pics r/nottheonion etc and specific city/state subreddits because that’s where I have lived. And a bunch of gaming subs like r/helldivers r/3d6 r/rpg r/cyberpunk and others too like r/antiMLM r/explainlikeimfive
January 23, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Well that’s disappointing, if shit like that continues to happen then it might be time to hang up the old Reddit account also
January 23, 2025 at 6:37 PM
Yeah and it was eventually banned. Now most of those cretins now frequent the conservative sub. I may have done a poor job communicating it but I think if you took stock of the entire site, this movement included, there are more left leaning people there than otherwise. I could be off though
January 23, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Speaking from my own experience though, maybe I should have been better about communicating that above
January 23, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Yeah so my generalization may be off a bit. My experience with some of the most visited/popular subs on there is that it leans liberal. There are obviously terrible and shitty subreddits and users. Everyone might have different experiences and I can respect that.
January 23, 2025 at 5:13 PM
Censorship is hilarious here btw. What are your current thoughts on the pausing of all public communication from every one of the nations health agencies?
January 23, 2025 at 5:10 PM
This concept, while it seems foreign to some, is not “cancel culture”. You don’t get to be an absolute terrible human being and have no consequences because you cooked up some half baked and obviously bullshit explanation for your shitty behavior.
January 23, 2025 at 5:09 PM
Please explain? People got together and decided that they did not want to support twitter anymore because its leader is a shit person? Both of the platforms are still usable, and there isn’t even a mandate from Reddit to block the links. The users of the subreddits decided to do it collectively.
January 23, 2025 at 5:07 PM
If the same sweeping changes start to happen over on Reddit, again it’s not perfect, then we get off that shit too.
January 23, 2025 at 3:25 PM
I see your point. I stopped going on there for about a year when they removed third party apps. My thinking is that companies like Twitter and Meta are making overtly anti democratic moves. If we are going to limit our social media presence anywhere it’s there.
