I got an ASUS ProArt Display PA278CV 27" 16:9 Adaptive-Sync QHD IPS Monitor back in '22, and I am very happy with it. It has USB-C so it works great with a MacBook Pro. I paid around $400 back then, looks like it's going for less than $300 now.

I had worked for a Reed Elsevier company back in the 90s, and yes, they were fast and loose with the facts. I bailed because that was just not who I wanted to work for.
