week 3: no spotting. someone was driving a toy boat in the pond so maybe it got scared off
week 4 (today): spotted farther out in the water! they camouflage as rocks v well so its p satisfying to finally spot it after scrutinizing every rock for legs and a tail. grandma very excited to see it again

we’ve started doing a weekly walk around a small pond near my grandma’s house to get her exercise and since i discovered a snapping turtle there she’s been very motivated to check in on it every week. was surprised to find it bc the pond is small and p littered, this was my initial discovery week 1:
