@astroroyalscot.bsky.social I counted the stars in the nebula, using an equal area elsewhere in the same image as a crude control, and found over 700 excess stars in M42/3 and over 130 excess stars in the Running Man Nebula.

Here is an annotated copy. Objects whose names begin with TYC are stars. Objects whose names begin with NGC or PGC are galaxies.
