My great grandparents arrived from Italy knowing zero English. They learned some basic phrases from the radio, but didn't learn grammer until their kids started primary school and would teach them at the dinner table.

In the context of legal punishment, have at it. What she is doing here is to paint that because his victims were teens, that doesn't make it as bad to anyone associated to him who knew he was sketchy, because at least they were not 8 yrs old. Nonsense. Consent is not "a grey area" at any age.

Why do we even need to consider there being "degrees of awfulness"? Sexual.assault/rape.of anyone of any age is awful, and I'd not willingly associate w/ anyone - regardless if their victim were 8 or 80.
