Long queues of traffic heading into the retail park this morning. My Christmas food shop has fitted onto a bike. I think I had more fun than those stuck in cars with my loud off key rendition of ‘Vive le Vent’, chosen for the stormy weather.

Ten years ago today I was in hospital recovering from urgent spinal surgery. Today, despite the wind and rain from storm Bert, I felt so alive and well cycling around town. Life is good.
