Here’s my piece for the @splatlanart.bsky.social project.
I don’t talk about it much, but our dissociative disorder is a key part of who we are. Here’s (mostly) all our alters, hanging at Grandfest.

Oops, got wordy on what I meant by this reply. TL;DR: you’re right about community organization. But there’s more we can do as a scene for curious outsiders.
There’s a thread that was made after SAC wrapped up regarding this topic, that I think about constantly. I’ll try and find that real quick.

The thing that sticks in my mind is, when we advertise our tourneys, we only do so to an audience of people already in comp splatoon. TOs don’t archive their tournaments outside of sendou, and players often don’t post their tournament VODs to YouTube. Unless you know where to look, it’s extremely hard for folks to find information on our scene. That being said, there’s been a lot of work put in by competitive content creators that I really think helps us out in this regard. Shoutout content creators. But there’s a lot more work non content-creators can do to make our scene more accessible to curious outsiders.” End ID.

I’m real bad at posting about my trips as they’re happening. But I had a great time at GOML/Toronto.
Baseball, aquarium, karaoke, kbbq, a Splatoon LAN…. And a boat? I did it all this weekend.
