Biologist interested in nature, climate and animal welfare etc. because I can't help it and because it's necessary 🌎💚
And then there is the rest of the GHG's making the impact of climate even worse....

We know that fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas are the main drivers for the climate crises.
So when was the reduction of these mentioned in the final decision paper from the COP meetings:

Perhaps we need to update the format starting with not giving the fossil fuel lobbyist's access to the COPs.

Fully agree to @dougparr.bsky.social, and also remember the accumulated emissions for the countries and/or regions.

It's not difficult to see that some have a bigger responsibility than others.....

Data from the new "Emissions Gap Report 2025".

The report shows what continuing current policies or having full implementation of the NDC's will do to our climate.

The conclusion is clear and well described in the title of the report "off target".

The data calls for responsible politicians....

Now we're talking...

EU vil skære op til otte timer af dine togrejser rundt i EU.

Der er afsat 345 milliarder euro til at nedbringe rejsetiderne med tog i EU.

Danish Meteorological Institute has collected data and made a report "climate status 2025".
Here are a few of the weather incidents reported.
If somebody thought that the climate changes will happen sometime in the future this should convince them that the weather and thereby the world is changing.

Det har aldrig været vigtige at stemme på grønne og ansvarlige politikere, både til kommunevalget, men selvfølgelig og til folketingsvalg mm. Nuværende og kommende generationer afhænger af det.
Du ved hvem de er....

We must remember that a green transition will affect some people, so we also need to focus on:

- Job security for people leaving the fossil industry

- People living near green energy projects should be fairly compensated, have electricity price reductions and, optimally, have a share of ownership💚

Just when you think you can't be more surprised...

The politicians who want to stop supporting foreign aid have done a great job of misleading the American people - it's scary...

Solar accounted for 70% of new global power capacity in 2024.
This is really an astonishing number and shows that this green technology is dominating the new capacity in the world’s electricity mix.

Newer data just confirms that the future is renewables..
September 30, 2025 at 9:45 AM
To put the land that can be released if we eat less meat into perspective see this very nice overview.
So what we eat matters a lot........
September 18, 2025 at 1:31 PM
We use 50% of the habitable land for agriculture and 77% of this for livestock (meat and dairy), so it really matters what we eat and eating less meat will reduce the CO2e emissions from agriculture and will give large area's back to nature and biodiversity

In Toulouse (Fr) where I am on holiday, the leaves normally change colour in Oct/Nov but due to prolonged drought and high temperatures, the leaves on several trees have already started to change colour and fall off.
Climate change is not something that will happen in the future, it is already here
August 19, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Exactly, there is no doubt about it.
But, unfortunately it's not going as fast as needed, so even though @profraywills.futuresmart.com.au see that the fossil fuels are in decline we see in e.g. DK that 1) much of the coal has been replaced with biomass 2) speed in electrification simply is to slow
August 4, 2025 at 6:59 AM
The world is changing before our eyes, and we know that we can change the lives of future generations for the better if we act now.
We have a responsibility, our media has a responsibility and politicians have a huge responsibility, hold them accountable.

It is now that we must act.....

Lets stop up and think about that modelling finds that a child born in 2020 will experience on average (compared to a person born in 1960):
twice as many wildfires,
2.8 times the exposure to crop failure,
2.6 times as many drought events,
2.8 times as many river floods
6.8 times more heatwaves
July 28, 2025 at 7:39 AM
The temperature is not only increasing the speed is accelerating.

This calls for us to vote for responsible politicians who take this seriously and act and not only say what is needed to get elected. It's actually not that difficult to tell them apart.

It's never to late to change but it's late...
July 25, 2025 at 9:22 AM
Really nice data, but the story isn't as clear cut as this in e.g. Denmark, where a lot of the fossil fuels have been replaced by an increase in biomass.
Beside having a high CO2 emission it causes less uptake of CO2 by growing trees and affects biodiversity

(Energy - Blue: Biomass, Green: Rest)
July 24, 2025 at 10:10 AM
Ja, og så er det spørgsmålet om den accelererende sitgning i temperaturen for alvor er tænkt ind i disse vurderinger, for slet ikke at sig "tipping points"....
July 15, 2025 at 6:48 AM
Scientist already in 1957 knew that we were making a large scale experiment increasing the CO2 conc. in the atmosphere.

We have had the knowledge for such a long time but the fossil fuel industry and policymakers working for own needs instead of the planet have brought us to where we are now..
